Swamped Summer + Featured Artist!

Happy Summer!

I’m sorry I haven’t posted in awhile. This summer has had me absolutely slammed. And sunburned.

Between dealing with family issues, and multiple conventions and shows after school ended, I have not had ANY time to update you lovelies on what’s going on in my life, SO! I am taking a break from cleaning up my studio (it’s as if taking the time to clean it only makes it worse…), to post an update.

If you follow me over my social media pages, you’ve probably seen bits and pieces of this, but I want to give you a full overview of what’s happening, and what’s ahead!

    HumAlong shirts are T-Rex approved!

Wizard World Sac was my last convention until ScareLA in August. If you special ordered something from me while at the convention, it’s been shipped as of today (7/6). My apologies on the lateness of the shipping. My grandfather was in the hospital and I was spending time with family. We had a blast at the convention though! Wizard World always feels like coming home. They’re a kind, family friendly organization, and it’s nice to have a low-key convention every now and again.

  • For those of you that don’t know, I am participating in the REVEAL showcase put on by RAW: natural artists Orange County on the 31st of this month. It’s going to be in Santa Ana at the Yost Theatre. I still have tickets available. Please use this link to purchase your tickets if you’re interested. I am required to sell 20 tickets, and received credit when you purchase from me. It’s cheaper to buy them now than at the door! It’s going to be an amazing night of fashion, music, and art in the Santa Ana arts district, so come on out!
  • My website has had a facelift! I’m hoping that with this cleaner, more simplified design, my site will be easier to maneuver and load faster. I’m still adding artwork to it, but it’s up and running. While my computer and site were updating, I had a tiny bit of down time to play with the minfigs I got a Wizard World Sac. Also, if you’re not following me on snapchat, you probably should be.
  • The amazing Comic Book Hideout in Downtown Fullerton will be carrying my products for the month of July! If you haven’t been able to make it to a convention, and are tired of waiting for me to get my shit together with my online shop, you can visit the CBH and check out some of my merch for yourself! Glynnes, the shop owner, has been kind enough to take me on before my show in November. She’s super cool, and has amazing mermaid hair. Say hello if you see her!
    • I also have a piece on display at the store! It’s a 4-color reduction of everybody’s favorite villain – Jim Moriarty from BBC’s Sherlock. The piece is available for sell and will be up for the duration of the month. Originals and prints of this edition will be available in the near future.
  • Speaking of November, I’ve scheduled my very first solo show! It’s at the very beginning of November, and it will fun for a full month. I will also have merch available in the store at that time. RSVP to the event page on Facebook to stay up to date with the reception planning! There will be food and *hopefully* live music! We want you there!

  • NEW SHOW ANNOUNCEMENT! The wonderful 2 Sketchy Dames are once again collaborating with artists to create an art card deck. This time around it’s a matching game, and the theme is FANTASTIC FOES! They were kind enough to invite me onto the project, and I couldn’t be more excited! I will be creating artwork of Jareth and Sarah (of Labyrinth) for my set of cards. The signing for the show will be on the 20th of August, at the Artists Lodge in Anaheim. I will have a small table selling merch, and will be available to sign your cards! Make sure you follow them on Facebook and Instagram to stay up to date on pre-orders and availability. These WILL GO FAST, so if you’re interested in a deck, make sure you let us know!

And now for a new segment that I’d like to start including in my sporadic blog posts:

FEATURED ARTIST!

I want to introduce you to my friend Eva. She’s one of the kindest, and most helpful people I’ve met on my art journey. She’s included me in multiple shows of her own, and she’s helping me put together my solo show in November.

Eva runs a company called Fan*Alley, which is an organization that supports and networks artists and other creators. She closed her brick and mortar shop so that she can curate art galleries and pop up shows under the same name. She sells geeky artwork on consignment for various artists and creators from all over the state and country. She also sells nerdy and nostalgic little knick knacks that she finds on her Fan*Attic Instagram.

Eva doesn’t just support the arts, but she’s a fantastic creator herself. She produces adorable artwork under her art name Critterosity. Follow her on Instagram to stay up to date with the art she produces, and to custom order something for yourself!

Eva seriously amazes me. I have no idea how she manages to keep up with all her projects. From face painting to curating to filling commissions, to organizing pop ups and expos… she’s a badass. I want to have her organizational skills when I grow up.

Her work is super affordable, all custom, and PERFECT for gift giving. She specializes in animals and pet portraits, but is willing to take fandom requests as well.

Below is a shot that she took of a Raptor painting I commissioned her for. She painted it live on her Periscope and featured my artwork that evening on her broadcast. Watch it here.

If you LOVE her artwork as much as I do, she also has a Patreon where you can get AMAZING deals (a discount and free shipping!) on her artwork, all while supporting a local artist and business owner!
